La multiplication de vitesse se fait par un train d&rsquo;engrenages. Ce sont des pi\u00e8ces en bois qui ont pour r\u00f4le de servir de fusible et d&rsquo;ainsi s\u00e9parer la roue des pompes en cas de surcharge. A Les Avins suite \u00e0 un mauvais alignement des 2 pignons, les alluchons ont rempli leur r\u00f4le.
